The Lost City of Petra

It snowed in Jordan today on our way to Petra – in the fifth driest country in the world.
Jane was slightly concerned at the 4-5 mile walk involved, but accomplished it with ease.
In all, 900 people from Arcadia visited Petra today.  Five others from our table joined us in an extremely enjoyable day.  As we walked down the Siq, the mile long chasm – in some places only 10 feet wide – the sandstone cliffs opened to reveal the impressive Treasury – an immense tomb carved out of the rose red rocks.

Jordan is totally different to Egypt, clean tidy and ordered, its people should be very proud of where they live.
A fantastic day out with a great bunch of people in a great country.  Back to Egypt tomorrow to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings.  Ship has just turned south down the Gulf of Aqaba to Safaga

  1. Looks like you had more fun in Jordan than Peter Andre. I'm here all week :)
