Still sailing

18:00.  Black and white evening (dress code, Giles – you are correct) was something of a diplomatic incident involving fully loaded tray and Jane’s head, resulting in leaving restaurant without eating – Jane shaken but OK – complaint duly lodged but still waiting for a response!
However, the evening ended well with drinks on our balcony in the blackout .  We have never seen so many stars in our lives.  It was beautiful – bed at 02:00.
Going to Marco Pierre White’s onboard restaurant tonight with two others from our table.  Other four are celebrating Chinese New Year in Chinese/Thai restaurant which is fully booked.
Today we went to a talk given by a Royal Navy Commander  who is on  board for security reasons.  He outlined measures being taken to stamp out Sumali  piracy.  There have been fewer incidents this year.  Arcadia is not an obvious target: too large, too fast, well secured and aware.
This was followed by a passenger and crew talent show, which was surprisingly good.  Ashley is ready for the next one!
Passing through the Straits of Bab al Mandab between Djoubouti and Yemen as we leave the Red Sea tonight.

  1. Guess this picture was prior to the tray incident! All well with Inca, fortunately not a lot of rain over last week so not too dirty yet.
