Hong Kong at night

We entered Hong Kong harbour at about 06:00 this morning and it was so misty that we could barely see the skyscrapers.  Docking at Ocean Quay in Kowloon just a small way over the water from HK city, we managed to get a good tour of Kowloon, where many workers live in high rise apartments.

With our friends, Elizabeth and Geoff, we then took the Star ferry to HK and travelled to Stanley town and the market, where we had a lunch of Dim Sum.  By now it was becoming very cold and misty again, so we returned to Arcadia late afternoon.  The weather was too bad to take advantage of The Peak.  Perhaps another time.  We are now on our balcony, wrapped in coats, facing HK Island and taking advantage of a magnificent laser show from the tops of the higher skyscrapers.  We hope to return.
Thank you Millie and Oliver for your comments.  Like your mum, we hope you both develop a taste for travel.  Grandma and Granddad keep pinching themselves because we can’t believe all the new places we're visiting. Thanks too Lorraine R for your comment.  You are right, this is very special.

  1. What a shame about the weather, I hope you feel you have had a good flavour of HK, I remember all the places you mentioned when Alli & I visited, I remember seeing people sitting in macdonalds eating and........wait for it.......talking on mobile phones, I couldn't believe it and remember commenting to Alli that they would never catch on in England............. Ha ha, can't accuse me of possessing any entrepreneurial skills!!!!! Take care, lots of love xxx
